Flower growing through the seasons

Flower growing through the seasons

Come and learn from our experienced growers as they guide you through the art and joy of cultivating cut flowers all year round using organic, regenerative and no-dig methods. Whether you’re dreaming of your first home-grown bouquet or looking to deepen your horticultural skills, this hands-on course series will give you the confidence and know-how to grow your own seasonal blooms.

This series is made up of three standalone sessions - Spring, Summer and Autumn/Winter. You’re welcome to join one, two, or all three sessions:

  • 1 session = £180
  • 2 sessions = £335*
  • 3 sessions = £500*

Across the seasons, we’ll explore:

  • No-dig approaches for creating and maintaining healthy, productive flower beds
  • How to nurture living soil and build long-term fertility
  • Planning your seasonal cutting garden: what to grow, when, and why
  • Seed sowing, pricking out and potting on, transplanting and direct sowing
  • Caring for your plants through every stage: staking, feeding, deadheading and pest management
  • Harvesting at the perfect moment and conditioning flowers for long vase life
  • Crop rotation, composting systems, mulching and green manures
  • Tools and materials that make flower growing easier and more efficient
  • Extending the season with tunnels, cold frames and protected growing

Each session takes place outside on the farm, where we demonstrate techniques in real time and walk through the seasonal tasks that keep a cutting garden flourishing. You’ll also have the chance to harvest your own flowers to take home, gaining practical experience throughout the year.

We tailor the content of each session to the season and to the interests of the group, so there will be space to dive deeper into the topics you’re most excited to explore—whether that’s spring sowings, summer abundance, dahlias, perennials, autumn seed-saving or winter preparation.

Set on our two-acre farm in the London Borough of Greenwich, surrounded by ancient trees and thriving hedgerows, the course offers a unique opportunity to learn, create and connect with nature. You’ll learn alongside fellow growers and share a delicious organic lunch made with produce from the farm.

Each day includes:

  • Seasonal, hands-on tuition from 10am–3.30pm
  • A nourishing organic lunch made with farm-grown ingredients
  • A hand-tied bouquet of freshly harvested flowers to take home

Grow your skills, deepen your connection to the land and discover the beauty of seasonal flowers—from the first spring seedlings to the rich textures of late autumn and the quiet preparation of winter.
